MyrixTV IPTV EPG: How the TV Guide Works in Your App

The MyrixTV IPTV EPG, in short

Every MyrixTV plan includes a TV guide, usually called the IPTV EPG (electronic program guide). It's the grid in your player app that shows what's on each channel now, what's on next and what's coming up later in the day. You don't pay extra for it and you don't have to find it somewhere else: the guide comes with the same login details as your channels.

This article explains what the EPG is, how it gets from MyrixTV into your app with each login format, why the guide is sometimes empty or an hour off, and how to use it to find your way around a line-up of 25,000+ live channels.

What an IPTV guide actually does

On cable or satellite, the guide is built into the box. With IPTV, the channels and the guide arrive as two separate streams of information, and your player app puts them together on screen.

  • The channel list tells the app which channels exist, what they're called and where to play them from.
  • The guide data is a schedule: program titles, start and end times, and often a short description, matched to each channel.

When both line up, you get the familiar IPTV TV guide: a row for each channel, a timeline across the top, and the current program highlighted. When they don't line up, you see channel names with "No information" next to them, or programs that start an hour early. Both problems are usually fixable in a few minutes, as you'll see below.

Two things the guide is not: it isn't a separate app, and it isn't a recording tool. It tells you what's on, so you can decide what to watch.

How the MyrixTV TV guide reaches your app

After you pay, your login arrives by email. It comes in one of three forms, and the guide travels a little differently with each.

Login formatHow the guide gets to the appWhere it's typically used
M3U playlist linkA separate EPG URL comes with the playlist; you add it in the app's guide or EPG settingsMany player apps on Smart TVs, Fire TV Stick, Android and iPhone/iPad
Xtream Codes loginBuilt into the login (server URL, username, password); the app loads the guide from the same detailsApps that support Xtream Codes logins
Portal URLSet up together with the portal on the boxMAG boxes

With an M3U playlist link

An M3U link only describes the channels. The schedule lives at the EPG URL, which MyrixTV sends with the playlist. In your player app, look for a setting called EPG, TV guide or XMLTV, and paste the EPG URL there. If you only add the playlist and skip this step, the channels will play but the guide will stay empty. That's the most common reason for a missing guide.

With an Xtream Codes login

An Xtream Codes login is simpler for the guide: once the app has the server URL, username and password, it knows where to fetch the schedule too. There's usually nothing extra to paste. If the guide is empty, the fix is normally a refresh inside the app rather than a missing URL.

With a MAG portal

On a MAG box, you enter the portal URL and the box loads the line-up through it. If the guide doesn't appear after setup, message the MyrixTV team on WhatsApp and they'll help you check it.

Keep your login private, whatever the format. It's tied to your plan, and sharing an account isn't allowed. For the full per-device steps, use the IPTV setup guide.

Why the IPTV EPG can be missing or wrong

Most guide problems come down to a handful of causes. Work through them in this order:

The guide hasn't loaded yet

Player apps download the guide data in the background and keep a copy. On the first launch, or right after you add a login, the grid can stay blank for a while. Give it time, then use the app's own option to update or refresh the EPG. Many apps also let you set how often the guide refreshes automatically; once a day is a sensible setting.

The times are shifted by an hour or more

If every program on a channel starts too early or too late by the same amount, it's a time zone issue, not a missing guide. Check two things:

  1. The date, time and time zone on your device itself.
  2. The app's own EPG time offset or time shift setting, if it has one. Adjust it one hour at a time until the guide matches what's actually playing.

The US spans several time zones and switches to and from daylight saving time, so a guide that was right last week can be off by an hour after the clocks change. The fix is the same.

Some channels have a guide and others don't

In any IPTV guide, schedule data isn't always available for every channel, and some schedules only cover the next day or so. If one or two channels you watch often show nothing, ask the MyrixTV team on WhatsApp. A refresh in the app is worth trying first, since the guide data is updated over time.

The EPG URL was typed or pasted wrong

A stray space or a missing character breaks the link. Copy the EPG URL straight from the email again, rather than retyping it on a TV remote, if your app allows that.

Using the MyrixTV guide to browse 25,000+ channels

A large line-up is only useful if you can find things in it. The guide is the fastest way to do that, especially when you combine it with the tools most player apps offer:

  • Categories. The MyrixTV line-up is organized into groups such as sports, movies, news, kids' channels, entertainment and series. Open a category first, then browse its guide, instead of scrolling through every channel.
  • Regional groups. Line-ups cover the USA, the UK, Canada, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia, with country- and language-based packages that include local sports and news. If you watch in more than one language, browsing by region keeps the guide manageable.
  • Favorites. Mark the channels you actually watch as favorites. Most apps let you open a guide that shows only those, which turns a huge grid into a short, readable one.
  • Search. Some apps search the guide by program title, which helps when you know what you want to see but not where it's on.

If there's a specific channel you need, ask the team on WhatsApp before you order rather than assuming it's in the list.

What to look for in an IPTV with EPG

If you're comparing services and searched for the best IPTV with EPG, the useful questions are practical ones rather than rankings:

  • Is the guide included, or an add-on? With MyrixTV, it's included on every plan, from 1 month ($12) to 12 months ($52).
  • How does it reach your app? A separate EPG URL for playlists and a built-in guide for Xtream Codes logins means the guide reaches your app with either login type.
  • Does it work in the app you'll use? MyrixTV has no app of its own, so the guide shows up in a third-party player: Smart IPTV on Samsung, IPTV Smarters or SS IPTV on LG, IPTV Smarters Pro, TiviMate or Perfect Player on Fire TV Stick and Android, and IPTV Smarters Pro, GSE Smart IPTV or nPlayer on iPhone and iPad.
  • Can you ask someone when it breaks? MyrixTV support is on WhatsApp, 24/7, and the team can check that your device and app will work before you order.

There's no free trial, so the 1-month plan is the short way to see the guide working on your own TV.

Frequently asked questions

What is an IPTV player?

It's the app that plays your channels and shows the guide. You add your login to it, and it loads the channel list and the EPG. MyrixTV works through third-party player apps and runs on Smart TVs, Fire TV Stick, Android devices, iPhone and iPad, MAG boxes, Enigma2 receivers and PCs.

How does an IPTV app work with the guide?

The app reads two things: the channel list from your M3U link or Xtream Codes login, and the schedule from the EPG URL or the same Xtream login. It matches each schedule to its channel and draws the grid.

What does IPTV include with MyrixTV?

Every plan includes 25,000+ live channels, 100,000+ movies and series on demand, HD, Full HD and 4K where available, the TV guide (EPG), and WhatsApp support 24/7, for one screen at a time.

How do I use IPTV with the TV guide?

Add your login to a player app, add the EPG URL if you're using an M3U playlist, refresh the guide, and check the app's time zone setting. Then open a category or your favorites and pick a program from the grid.

Why does my IPTV guide show the wrong times?

Your device's time zone or the app's EPG time offset doesn't match your location. Correct the device clock first, then adjust the offset in the app.

Get the MyrixTV IPTV EPG on your TV

The MyrixTV IPTV EPG is part of every plan: it arrives with your login, loads into your player app, and turns a long channel list into a guide you can actually browse. If it's empty, add the EPG URL or refresh it; if it's off by an hour, fix the time zone. And if something still doesn't look right, the team is on WhatsApp.

See every plan on the MyrixTV IPTV subscription page, or start with the 1-month way to try the service.
